Begonia Austrovietnamica

Begonia Austrovietnamica (Rare)

C$40.00Price

Latin name: Begonia austrovietnamica 🌿
Common name: None (botanical species)
Origin: Southern Vietnam — discovered in limestone forests and shaded ravines of the Annamite Range.
Standout traits: Deeply lobed, glossy green leaves with a subtle metallic undertone and crisp serrated edges. The undersides glow crimson in light. It’s a compact, jewel-type begonia prized by collectors for its elegant symmetry and rarity in cultivation.

FLOWER DETAILS
Blooms emerge as delicate clusters of pearly white to soft pink flowers, each with a fine translucent texture. Their gentle shimmer contrasts beautifully against the dark foliage — ethereal, refined, and fleeting.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • ☀️ Light: Bright, indirect light; avoid direct sun to prevent leaf scorch.

  • 💧 Water: Keep evenly moist; never allow soil to dry out completely. Use room-temperature water.

  • 🌡️ Humidity: High (70–85%); essential for consistent growth.

  • 🪴 Soil: Fine, airy mix — sphagnum moss, perlite, and a small amount of humus or coco peat.

  • 🏺 Potting: Use small terracotta or plastic pots with excellent drainage; repot annually to refresh mix.

  • 🌱 Growth rate: Slow (3–5 cm / 6 months).

  • 🐾 Pet friendly: No.
