9.1. Giant Peacan Bird 1174

🪵 Chiseled Wood Pelican-Style Bird is a bold figurative sculpture depicting an elongated coastal bird in a rich charcoal-black stain with chiseled geometric facets and an oversized bill. Its dramatic silhouette and raw carved planes bring an architectural, gallery-inspired presence to home spaces.

ABOUT THIS PIECE
Carved from wood in an imposing standing posture, this stylized sculpture captures the distinctive profile of a pelican-style bird with a long downward-pointing beak and a bowed head. The dark stained body is sculpted with broad, visible tool-carved facets that catch shadows and highlight the sculptural geometry of the timber. The bird stands firmly on an integrated round solid wood block pedestal, providing grounded stability. The deep black finish allows the underlying wood texture to show through, creating an earthy yet modern aesthetic. Subtle variations in chisel facet angles and grain texture occur naturally across carvings. Please see the photos for scale and all-around sculpted profiles.

WHERE TO DISPLAY IT
Position this sculptural pelican-style bird on an entryway bench, a substantial fireplace hearth mantel, or a low living room bookshelf. It creates a striking minimalist statement when paired with natural stone, light wood flooring, and modern art.

CARE AND HANDLING
Dust periodically using a dry microfiber cloth or soft artist brush across the faceted planes. Lift by gripping the solid circular block base with both hands rather than the slender neck or elongated bill. Keep in a dry indoor room away from heating vents and damp walls.
